Loneliness is a chronic condition too.
For many older adults in senior living communities, the hardest part of the day isn't physical: it's the QUIET. A lack of social and cultural engagement is closely tied to depression and declining wellbeing among seniors, and it's a challenge that most centers, however dedicated their staff, don't have the time or budget to fully address.
The asnwer lies in simplicity. It's live music. It's a dance from someone's childhood. It's a room full of people clapping along to a rhythm they haven't heard in years — and a student who gets to learn, first-hand, why it mattered.

Every visit is shaped around the residents in the room including their backgrounds, their memories, their requests.
Live Ensemble Performances
Small student ensembles — strings, guitar, vocals, percussion — perform sets tailored to the room, often taking requests.
Cultural Dance Showcases
Folk and social dances from around the world — sometimes performed, sometimes taught to residents who want to join in.
Intergenerational Circles
Small-group conversations paired with music, giving students and residents time to actually talk — not just perform and leave.
Story & Song Exchanges
Residents share the songs and stories that shaped them; students learn the pieces and bring them back the following visit.
